Born between one of the 7 Wonders of the World and the Atlantic Ocean in Cape Town, South Africa, Gabriela started her hustle and bustle in her twenties in an Apartheid South Africa in 1984 - a difficult landscape for anyone of colour, let alone a women in leadership.
As a self-motivated, driven and passionate Afrosapien, she found herself drawn to the areas of public relations, marketing and event-coordination. At the time, she successfully co-hosted an event known as "The Greatest Bargain Day" at Good Hope Centre - which at that time was the only big venue to host large events in Cape Town.
With a go-getter attitude, a keen sense for opportunity and an unbridled passion for positivity, Gabriela quickly rose to become a Director at Promotional Business Development in 1987-1989 running "The Greatest Bargain Day" event.
In 1990 she became a Business Partner and Manager for The Magic of Larry Soffer - successfully transforming and catapulting the artist from his humble beginnings of a table-hopping performer into one of the most recognizable Magicians within South Africa and across the globe today. During the 12 years of partnership, she helped to propel them far and wide in both travel and acclaim with her unique psychic insight, keen business acumen and marketing prowess.
She is one of a handful of South Africans to become a certified member of The Magic Castle in Hollywood. Gabriela is also actively involved in nurturing the next generation of magicians having served on the panel of judges at the College of Magic Junior Championship Stage and Close-Up performances.
In 2014, Gabriela decided that she needed to pivot slightly and focus on what she loves best - bringing out uniqueness and the curiosity of the mind... This time as the owner and founder of Afrosapien Entertainment where she seeks to ignite the passion of possibility within the public, private and corporate sectors.
